I’m Travis’s little sister. That’s what I’ve always been. We grew up together and we are a lot alike: quiet, low maintenance, go with the flow but, by God we stand up for what’s important.

I knew Becky was the one for Travis from the first time I met her. They are complete opposite sometimes but still fit perfectly together.

Early on, we went on the first of many fishing trips together to the Texas coast. Me and my husband, Travis and Becky. After that trip I knew we were meant to be family.

Flounder giggin at night after getting up early and bay fishing all day…They bickered and bitched but still managed to get out on that boat on time (barely). “Let’s go Rebecca!” Travis would yell.

We had a decent evening filling our tub with flounder. Then, on the way back in, we got stuck, boat beached on a sand bar, in the middle of the night. Tried for hours; to get ourselves out, getting wet, getting tired of pushing and jumping, then just giving up, sitting smoking all the guide’s cigarettes, out of beer and waiting on someone’s friend to come pull us out.

They approach life just like that, with joy and a hopeful heart and lots of hard work. I hope they spend the rest of their lives bickering and fishing.

Becky and I have a very long history, all the way back to my mom working for her mom while they were both pregnant with us. I guess it was a sign she was going to be a life-long friend. Most of my childhood memories have Becky in them; many of them loading up on a Friday to head out to a rodeo for the weekend. We grew up knowing everything about one another. While life has separated us some and we have taken various paths, I know we can pick up the phone and it seem like we never missed a beat.

Becky, I have enjoyed being a part of your life for all this tie, and I am so honored you asked me to stand next to you for this next big milestone! I am so happy for you and Travis and I cannot wait to see how you two continue to grow stronger as a married couple! I love you, always.

In the fall of 2012, I was newly married and working my way through college as a large animal vet tech when a very energetic pre-vet student joined our crew. I was pretty sure she had way too much enthusiasm for me. However, when she bluntly asked me if I “had a problem with her,” I started thinking she might be my kind of people. A friendship began and before we knew it, my husband and I were helping load Becky, two horses, and three dogs up to move in with us. The months that she lived here laid the foundation for a friendship that I have continued to love and cherish through time and distance. I couldn’t be more happy that she has found her match! Congratulations my beautiful, smart, funny, passionate friend.

I met Becky one night at our house. From the outset, I liked her. We've since spent time on road trips and hanging out at their home. Making friends is tough, but Becky is different. She's kind and goes out of her way for those she loves. When our dog, Murphy, passed, she was there, ensuring we had a paw print impression to remember him by. Becky is truly a lifelong friend.

I can't recall when I first met Travis since Ben has many friends. However, Travis stands out for making me feel welcome. Despite his quiet nature, he checked on me when my sister passed away, showing his big heart.

Here's to a long, happy marriage filled with love and many more animals. Love you both!
